The TS-231P3 2-Bay NAS Enclosure from QNAP has a 2.5 GbE RJ45 port that provides up to 2.5x the speed of Gigabit Ethernet and enables smooth multimedia playback and everyday usage. The TS-231P3 helps ensure data security through AES 256-bit encryption and various local, remote, and cloud backup options, including snapshot protection, which allows for files and data to be reverted to previously recorded states if they are accidentally deleted, modified, or affected by malware.
The TS-231P3 is powered by a 1.7 GHz Annapurna Labs AL-314 Quad-Core processor, which will allow you to run multiple applications simultaneously. The 2GB of DDR3 RAM has a configuration of 1 x 2GB, can be upgraded to 8GB using its one SO-DIMM slot, and will allow quick access to frequently used file and programs. Network connectivity is achieved using one 2.5 GbE port and one Gigabit Ethernet port, which support failover and dual IP. There is also support for JBOD, single disk, RAID 0, and RAID 1, which respectively offer performance gains or 1:1 data redundancy.
This 2-bay enclosure has the ability to natively house both 3.5″ and 2.5″ SATA III 6 Gb/s and SATA II 3 Gb/s hard drives or SSDs, and screws are included that accommodate each drive size. Using the three USB 3.0 Type-A ports this QNAP NAS can be connected to other devices, such as QNAP expansion units. To bolster security, AES 256-bit encryption helps to prevent sensitive business data from unauthorized access and breaches.

Coupled with Qsync (a utility that transforms a QNAP NAS into a secure, high-capacity data center for file synchronization), any file uploaded to the TS-231P3 becomes available for all linked devices (such as computers, laptops, and mobile devices). Hybrid Backup Sync helps backup/synchronize data on the TS-231P3 to another QNAP NAS, remote server, or cloud storage for disaster recovery. Additionally, QuDedup technology greatly improves the efficiency of multi-version backup to destination storage, while optimizing storage utilization. You can install the QuDedup Extract Tool on your computer and restore deduplicated files to their normal status.
